D7, up until recent times, was little talked about and was very much a working class area of North Dublin. But thanks to gentrification it's now synonymous with Dublin hipster-ism. Alongside the greasy spoons and long time residents; real inner city characters, you will find health conscious coffee shops, hot yoga studios, and youthful yummie mummies with their designer babies and buggies. Letterpress | Project Three

Week three, project three saw me begin my first self driven project. I'd like to say that I put LOADS of thought and planning in to it, but I didn't. An idea sprung in to my head that I would do a simple memorial piece to my grandmother, who had passed away the first week of the course. It seemed like the most logical thing to do. There would be no tricks or gimmicks, it would be plain and simple and would allow me to get another project in before the course ended.

NCAD - Introduction to Letterpress and Block Printing

When I look in to night classes, I always look for something that lets me "make and do" and will technically take me away from the day job. My latest venture in to the creative comes in the form of an eleven week introductory course in to Letterpress and Block printing in the National College of Art and Design here in Dublin.
